Glass mask made students

A Glass Mask made by my students, now needs some decisions to be made.

Here is a video about the  Glass Mask I made to send to my students following the one day ‘Introduction to Glass fusing’ course held on 23rd March 2014.

They are a married couple and they chose to do a larger joint peice rather than two smaller individual peices during the afternoon session of our day together. Due to the complexity of the peice I have had to fire this twice. The first time it was fired the right way up in order to fuse al the components in the right positions. This left a step or kink in each strand of hair where the glass moved from 3 layers to 2 layers. I then fired the peice upside down in order to get rid of these kinks. Now I have to put the peice into a third firing to add the lips and a few extra strands of hair which are going to be tack-fused to give the peice some texture. Before that I need the couple to decide if they want to change the shape of the clear background. I personally like it just the way it is. How about you? Let me know what you think about the overall shape of the peice by signing up and leaving me a comment. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
